This is the first time the award ceremony will conduct outside of Mumbai and in Assam.

Filmfare Awards 2020 to held in Guwahati

The Assam Government has signed an MOU with the Times Group to bring the Bollywood town to its state in 2020.

 
At an event held today in Guwahati, Vineet Jain (Managing Director, Bennett, Coleman and Company Limited) and Deepak Lamba (CEO, Worldwide Media Pvt. Ltd) were present along with Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal, Chandan Brahma (Minister of Tourism, Government of Assam), Jayanta Malla Baruah (Chairman, Assam Tourism Development Corporation) and Dr M. Angamuthu (IAS, Commissioner & Secretary, Tourism Department, Government of Assam) to sign the MOU and announce that the Assam Government will host the next edition of the award show in Guwahati.
 
Along with the guaranteed stardom the event will bring to the state, the government is also hopeful that the event will boost tourism and benefit the Assamese film industry.
