Rohit Shetty's name is now synonyms with action movies in Bollywood. Shetty combines his films with a lot of practical stunt work as well as CGI effects to highlight action scenes. Whether it's Singham or his upcoming film Sooryavanshi Rohit Shetty has always pushed the bar for action films. However, Shetty credits film-maker and stuntman Veeru Devgan for bringing the genre of action films in Bollywood.
Shetty took to Instagram to pay a heartfelt tribute to Veeru Devgan on his death anniversary. In the first picture, Rohit Shetty is seen performing a stunt as the rest of a film crew watches. In the second picture, Rohit Shetty is seen touching Veeru Devgan's feet with his head at an award function.
The Singham director captioned the post writing, 'Back in time, Veeru ji taught us raw and real action, no cables and no computer graphics. We are privileged to have him as our guru! Never executed a single stunt without giving your example to my team and had never imagined I would be blessed enough to present you the lifetime achievement award. It’s been a year since you left us. You will always be missed.'
Veeru Devgan passed away at the age of 85 in Mumbai. He is still remembered for making many action set pieces in his decades long career. Earlier today actor Ajay Devgn also posted a throwback post for his late father. He wrote, 'Dear Dad, it’s a year since you left. However, I can feel you beside me—quiet, caring, protective; your presence is forever reassuring.'
