No one can forget Melvin who made the audience burst with laughter through the film Thanneer Mathan Dinangal. Each of Naslen K Gafoor’s dialogues as the main character’s friend Melvin was the most applauded and bursting part of the film.
But the bottom line has changed when Naslen, who used to joke and burst out a laugh in Thanneer Mathan Dinangal, reached Kuruthi.
Naslen has given a magnificent performance as Rasool, an arrogant teenager who had to become a serious man at an early age.
While sharing the screen space with a large cast including Mamukoya, Prithviraj, Murali Gopi, Roshan Mathew, Manikandan, Shrinda, and Shine Tom Chacko, Naslen is able to make a mark in a way that is reminiscent of Rasool’s character itself.
The audience is initially introduced to Rasool, who tries to see those around him and the world only through the eyes of an extremist group. But at the same time, there are doubts and confusion of age within the character.
The complexity created by these two emotions, though the film follows a particular stylized format, is presented by Naslen without any artificiality.
As the story progresses, Naslen also changes and his inner hatred and anger become stronger. This character development, which is not so unexpected, makes the audience tirelessly watch Naslen’s performance.
Rasool in Kuruthi confirms that from now on, Naslen will be at the forefront of the best teenage actors in Malayalam.
The film, which stars Prithviraj in the lead role, is directed by Manu Warrier, who before directed the Hindi film, Coffee Bloom. Aneesh Pillai wrote the script for the film.
Roshan Mathew also plays a lead role in the new film. Kuruthi is the first solo film produced by Prithviraj Productions. The camera is by Abhinandan Ramanuja. The film Kuruthi was released on Amazon Prime on August 11 for the Onam release.
