Ayushmann Khuranna has been working on superhit films one after another. His last film, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan released on Feb 21 and has already collected well over Rs. 40 crores in less than a week. The actor is now gearing up for his next film, Gulabo Sitabo where he stars alongside Amitabh Bacchan. Gulabo Sitabo is the first film to bring together Ayushmann Khuranna and Amitabh Bacchan on the sets of the same film.
Recently during an interview, Khuranna was asked about working alongside Bacchan. The actor said, "Bachchan sir is amazing." He went on to say that "It is not easy...What I marvel about him is that he's so well prepared always. He will know your lines also. It is not easy to act in front of him. You have to be on your toes as a co-actor."
Gulabo Sitabo is being directed by Shoojit Sircar. Shoojit Sircar also directed Vicky Donor starring Ayushmann Khuranna which earned him a lot of fame early on in his Bollywood career. Vicky Donor was also a critical and financial success.
Khuranna also revealed some insight into the plot of Gulabo Sitabo. He said, "Gulabo Sitabo is an extremely simple film. It's a sweet film about the banter between a landlord and a tenant. I'm the tenant, Bachchan sir is the landlord and we are always at loggerheads. It's as simple as that. The magic is, sometimes you find simplicity most exciting in life and that's what the film is about."
