Gunasekhar is undoubtedly one of the most talented directors in the industry who has greatly impressed the audience with his superhit movies, including 'Sogasu Chuda Tarama', 'Okkadu' etc.

 
Gunashekar received his first National Award for Best Children's Film International Children's Film Festival Of India for 'Ramayanam' movie. Jr NTR who was a 13-year-old boy at that time played the lead role of Lord Rama in the movie. Today on the occasion of Children's Day, Gunasekhar made a post on social media remembering National Award as well as NTR in the film. "#HappyChildrensDay! Here’s @Gunasekhar1 receiving the National Award for His film #Ramayanam & @tarak9999 as Lord Ram in it! #Nostalgia #NTRasRama" tweeted Gunasekhar.
 
On the work front, Gunasekhar, whose previous outing 'Rudramadevi' movie became a decent hit, is now busy with his upcoming film 'Hiranyakasipa' starring Rana Daggubati. The pre-production works of the film are currently going on at Ramanaidu Studios. Rana Daggubati is hoping that the project would garner the attention of audiences from all over the world.
