Aamir started off his career as a child artist in the film Yaadon Ki Baarat. He also appeared in a minor role in the 1974 film Madhosh. He later acted as a lead hero in the 1984 film Holi. But it was the 1988 film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, which made Aamir a sensation in the film industry. After that, he scored a few hits like Raakh, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Raja Hindustani, Andaz Apna Apna, Rangeela, Ghulam and Sarfarosh.
