Wondering what to watch besides the obvious recommendations of Sacred Games and Mirzapur? Don't worry, here are a few OTT originals that you can totally binge-watch!
Paatal Lok (Amazon Prime)
This cop thriller with mythological overtones is a must-watch. A struggling cop Hathiram follows a trail to investigate a case of attempted murder but uncovers a complex crime web that he could never have dreamed of! The show has received critical acclaim for shedding light on the socioeconomic divide in India, master storytelling, wonderful character development and fantastic metaphors.
Taj Mahal 1989 (Netflix)
An often underrated masterpiece is Netflix's Taj Mahal 1989. The rom-com offers several love stories from the pre-internet world. Set in the year 1989 in the city of Lucknow, the show offers several memorable characters: a professor couple trying to keep their marriage alive, a schoolgirl in love with an older boy and a college love triangle.
Nikhil Nair, a forensic-expert-turned-teacher returns to his hometown of Varanasi to help catch a serial killer who is terrorizing the city. Just like Paatal Lok, Asur has an interesting bend of mythology and mystery. It is definitely worth a watch!
The Family Man (Amazon Prime)
To his family, Srikath Tiwari is a paper pusher working out of a dingy office; in reality, Sri is an intelligence officer! A classic spy thriller, The Family Man follows the tale of Srikanth Tiwari who investigates a potential terrorist attack. If you want a constantly engaging show that you might question from time to time, The Family Man is perfect for you.
Made in Heaven (Netflix)

The show is totally binge watchable because of its memorable characters, fantastic premise and execution.
Breathe (Amazon Prime)
The trailer for the second season of Breathe is making the rounds and gaining popularity as the days go by. While the second season is a fresh story and has little to do with the first, you could give the Madhavan
starrer Breathe a shot! One of India's first few OTT releases, Breathe is one of the most strangest and weirdly binge worthy shows that follows a tale of a desperate father (Madhavan) who tries his best to move his son up the organ recipient list at any cost.
Four More Shots Please (Amazon Prime)
Deemed to be India's very own Sex and the City, Four More Shots Please is worthy of your time. While it might not be the most well-written shows, it tackles show urgent social issues such as workplace sexism, same-sex relationships, complicated marriages and relationships and much more. The show received much praise for having the first lesbian wedding on Indian television.
