Hrithik Roshan becomes the latest actor to support daily wagers. The actor contributes Rs 25 lakh to CINTAA.
After joining forces with a non-profit organisation to provide 1.2 lakh meals to the underprivileged across the country, Hrithik Roshan has now supported the Cine and TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA) to help the daily wagers. The superstar has contributed Rs 25 lakh to the organisation to aid the 4,000 daily-wage artistes.
Amit Behl, senior joint secretary and chairperson, outreach committee, CINTAA, says, "A few days ago, KWAN, the talent management company that handles Hrithik, asked for our account details. He transferred Rs 25 lakh to our sister concern, Cine Artiste Welfare Trust [CAWT]." Behl adds that they have also sought support from Vidya Balan. "She has done her bit through the [Producers'] Guild, and was happy to help us. She will also share a video [urging others] to help those in need."
Actor Sushant Singh, who is also the general secretary and head of CINTAA, thanked Hrithik Roshan for the donation he made. In a heartfelt tweet, Sushant Singh quoted a popular phrase mentioning the support Hrithik has provided. Sushant Singh later goes on to thank Hrithik for his generous donation made towards the fraternity. Sushant also gave Hrithik a huge shout out in admiration for the good work he has done. In conclusion, Sushant Singh also added a snippet of himself and Hrithik Roshan from their time shooting for Lakshya.
The film fraternity has been doing its best to ensure that these artists and crew members have means to basic survival. Hrithik Roshan has donated to CINTAA to ensure that the members and the families are taken care of. Several daily wage workers have been suffering pay cuts and therefore a shortage of food and supply. CINTAA aims at fulfilling these needs of those in distress.
