Every year, both Tamil and Telugu film industries line up big releases during the Sankranthi festive season. Star actors' films clash at the box office at this period and their stamina gets proved with the box office collections of their films. For Sankranthi 2020, there are four films lined up for the release, which are, Rajinikanth's Darbar, Mahesh Babu's Sarileru Neekevvaru, Allu Arjun's Ala Vaikunthapurramloo, and Kalyan Ram's Entha Manchivaadavuraa.
All these films are going to have a wide release in overseas as well. These days, the collections in overseas are also determining the stardom level of the actor. Coming to the case of Darbar, it will have premieres in the US on the 8th of January (Wednesday). The trade pundits are expecting it to do a business of at least $2.5 million due to the presence of Rajini.
Sarileru Neekevvaru will have its premieres on 10th January (Friday). Considering the track record of Mahesh in the US, all this film needs to do is to get positive talk, to create havoc at the box office. Allu Arjun's Ala...Vaikunthapurramuloo will have its premieres on Saturday. Considering the combo of Bunny and Trivikram, we can expect good collections from the premieres.
Yentha Manchivadavura will have its premieres on 14th January (Tuesday). The analysts are predicting that it might be the highest grosser of Kalyan Ram in the US. January 20th is a holiday in the US and with that, there is a long weekend during the second week of all these films. Thus, we can expect big numbers from all of them in the first two weeks.
