I Became An Actor, So I Can Become A Director, Reveals Arjun Kapoor

Arjun Kapoor has collaborated with several renowned production companies and directors during his around ten-year career. In his upcoming film Kuttey, he works with renowned director Vishal Bhardwaj for the first time. Arjun, however, has said that his dream was not to become an actor but rather something else.

Arjun said, “I became an actor, so I can become a director. I always wanted to be a director and never had an inclination of being an actor”, in a conversation with Free Press Journal.

The Gunday actor gave a few hints as to his future plans once he begins directing. He said, “Behind the camera, directors have pushed me so much, which will help me in my direction. They have given me such a huge crux and let me fly. I have learned an important thing: whatever you do, you have to do with conviction.”

Returning to Kuttey, it also stars Tabu, Naseeruddin Shah, Konkona Sen Sharma, Radhika Madan, Kumud Mishra, and Shardul Bhardwaj. This is Aasmaan Bhardwaj's directorial debut. Vishal Bhardwaj not only composed the music for the movie, but he also produced it. Gulzar wrote the lyrics.

After Finding Fanny, this is the second time Arjun and Naseeruddin Shah have appeared together on screen. The actor added, “Naseer saab has worked with dad (Boney Kapoor) and Anil chachu (Anil Kapoor). In Finding Fanny, we were sharing the front seat in the film. We spoke so much that we were very comfortable. He has always been very kind to me".

The movie Kuttey is scheduled to open in theatres on January 13.
