I Felt Very Sad When I Heard The Things That Shine Had Said; Samyuktha Opens Up

'Virupaksha' is the new film with Samyuktha the heroine. This is a Sai Dharam Tej starrer film. The film is directed by Karthik Danthu. A new report says that the pan-India mystical thriller 'Virupaksha' has reached the 70 crore club. This film is also releasing in Malayalam soon. For its promotion, actress Samyuktah and the crew of the film held a press conference in Kochi the other day.

At the same time, a question arose in this press conference regarding the controversy related to the movie Boomerang, the last Malayalam movie that Samyuktha acted in. At the time of the release of the film Boomerang, the producer revealed that the heroine Samyuktha had been approached for promotion, but she refused. After this, actor Shine Tom Chacko came to the scene.

"Not coming for the promotion of the film done is not right because of changing the name. Be it Menon, be it Nair, be it Christian or Muslim, what is the point of not completing the work done? A person should be recognised. Not all names are earned after coming to earth. They will not come to small films. Only those who have collaborated survive. It is not a lack of commitment; the work done has gone bad. It will not come because of the thought," Shine Tom alleged at that time.

The other day, media persons asked Samyuktha what her reaction was to this. "I was saddened by what he (Shine Tom) said, and it was a very progressive decision that I made to not have caste in my name. This is not something that can be changed by thinking that it was said in one place. When I go to another place, I am called by this caste name;" said Samyuktha.

"This happened when I went to Chennai as part of a film. I felt it was unpleasant when people started calling it ancient. Many people have asked me why I made such a decision. What I am talking about something new here. But there are many people in this society who have taken such decisions. Kerala is a forward-thinking place in many ways;" Samyuktha added.

"That's why I changed it. To call it into question is something that saddens me. Because the topic discussed in Chennai that day was different. But while speaking about it, I felt very sad when I heard the things that Shine had said in connection with the decision I had taken;" Samyuktha concluded.
