International Film Festival of India (IFFI) and the MAMI International Film Festival are two of the biggest film festivals in India. While MAMI completed 21 editions till now, IFFI will have its 50th edition this year. On the occasion of the golden jubilee edition, the organizers of IFFI have decided to screen 17 award-winning films of MAMI, under the section, 'Best of Mumbai International Film Fest.'
These 17 films got screened in various editions of MAMI over the past 10 years. The films are 17-August, At the Altar of India's Freedom, Isang Yun in North and South Korea, Music in the Blood, At The Stairs, The Cinema Travellers, Famous in Ahmedabad, Fireflies in the Abyss, Fisherwomen and Tuk Tuk, My Turn, Nero's Guests, Ukadi Pukadi, Pink Saris, Solo Finale, Prince, Santhal Family to Mill Re-call, The Basket and True Love Story.
These films belong to various kinds and genres like features, documentaries, animation features and short fiction films. People who have watched them at MAMI or the people who have missed watching these movies at all, can now catch them on the big screen at IFFI.
The festival starts on the 20th of this month and ends on the 28th. Over 200 films are gearing up for their screenings in this carnival.
