IFFI gives priority to Italian films in this edition

The 50th edition of the International Film Festival honors Italian movies by choosing two of them as the opening and closing films respectively.

IFFI gives priority to Italian films in this edition

After the recently concluded Mumbai Film Festival, Indian film buffs are now gearing up for the International Film Festival of India (IFFI). The year marks the 50th edition of IFFI and Goa is gearing up to host the festival on a grand scale. More than 200 films from 76 different countries will get screened at this festival.

The festival will kickstart on the 20th of this month. The opening film will be Italian drama, Despite the Fog. Directed by award-winning filmmaker Goran Paskaljevic, this film portrays the story of a restaurant owner in Rome and a refugee child Mohammed.
The mid fest film will be German drama Traumfabrik, directed by Martin Schreier. The film's story is set in 1961 portrays the story of a young man who tries to reunite with a French girl he loves after getting separated due to the construction of the Berlin wall.
The festival will get concluded by an Italian film once again. Marghe and her Mother will be the closing film of this year's IFFI. This intense drama showcases the struggles of a single mother and her six-year-old daughter. On the whole, IFFI has selected some hard-hitting dramas as the main features of this edition
