Imman reacts on wiwning National Award

Composer D Imman was in for a huge surprise when the 67th National Awards were announced. The awards should have been announced last year but had to get postponed due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. In a press conference in Delhi, the jury announced the National Awards for the films in 2019. Composer D Imman was surprised to know that he won a National Award for his work in Ajith's Viswasam, which was a blockbuster hit. The jury announced that the Best Music category is split into two - Songs and Original Score. Imman won the award for Best Music - Songs for his exceptional work in Viswasam.

 
It is to be noted that this is Imman's first National award in his career. He took to Twitter to express his happiness. His tweet read, "With God’s Magnificent Glory,My Parents Blessings and continuous support from all dear MusicLovers worldwide! I’m deeply humbled with National award announcement for Best Music Director Category. It's pure joy to receive national-level recognition for Tamil music! Praise God! (sic)." Viswasam, directed by Siruthai Siva, starred Ajith, Nayanthara, baby Anikha and Jagapathi Babu in lead roles.
