Manoj Bajpayee, often regarded as a method actor & director's actor in the film industry. Manoj is famous for his unconventional roles in films. The successful actor is an important actor of this generation and his acting style received multiple awards nationwide. Born in Belwa, a small village in Narkatiaganj, Bihar, Bajpayee aspired to become an actor since childhood. He relocated to Delhi at the age of 17 and applied for the National School of Drama, only to get rejected four times. He made his feature-film debut with 'Drohkaal' and a minor role of a dacoit in Shekhar Kapur's 'Bandit Queen'. After a few unnoticed roles, he played the gangster Bhiku Mhatre in Ram Gopal Varma's 1998 crime drama 'Satya', which proved to be a breakthrough.
Manoj also encouraged many new talents and brought them into the light by taking them to the producers. The actor introduced them to the film fraternity and encouraged them. He is the one who actually introduced Anurag Kashyap to Ram Gopal Varma. Later, they went on work for 'Satya', which got him a break too. Later Anurag cast him as Sardar Khan in epic gangster saga 'Gangs of Wasseypur', which garnered him international fame and success. He also did pivotal roles in South cinema and is widely recognized for his role in Allu Arjun's 'Happy'. Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has cited Bajpayee's performance as the inspiration for his role as the antagonist in the 'Kick'.
