The Bengali Association of the twin cities, Hyderabad Bangalee Samiti often hosts various cultural activities in the city, which depicts their culture. Now, the team is organizing the Telangana Bengali Film Festival Aayna 2019 in Hyderabad. The festival is being held at Prasad Labs in Banjara Hills.
A total of eight films, across the popular and retrospective categories, will get screened in this festival. The three-day event has kickstarted today and will continue for the next two days. The films which will get screened in the night session of today are, Purbo Poschim Dokkhin Uttor Asbei and Ami Joy Chatterjee. Both the screenings start at 8 pm in two different auditoriums.
Purbo Poschim Dokkhin Uttor Asbei is highly inspired by the novel Ebong Inquisition, written by Avik Sarkar. It tries to showcase the dark side of mankind. The film deals with black magic, paranormal activities, witchcraft, and psychic elements. It is one of the well-made horror films in Bengali in the recent past.
On the flip side, Ami Joy Chatterjee deals with the story of a narcissistic man called Joy. He is totally obsessed with himself and a ruthless self-centric businessman. He gets into a mess one fine day and how he comes out it forms the rest of the story. Both films are expected to get good occupancy during the screenings.
