Every year, Diwali is when the big releases in all languages hit the big screens so as to entertain the audience. This year, unfortunately, Diwali falls on a Sunday (October 27), making it impossible for the producers to release their films.
So, the producers of Vijay’s Bigil and Karthi’s Kaithi are forced to choose a different date other than Diwali. On October 17 at 5 PM, producer SR Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures announced that Kaithi will release in Tamil and Telugu on October 25.
An hour later, producer Archana Kalpathi of AgS Entertainments announced that Bigil will also release on the same date. While Bigil is a big-budget entertainer, Kaithi comparatively is a medium-budget flick. Hence, it is easier for theatre owner to occupy both of them.
Both Bigil and Kaithi have generated a positive buzz with its trailer. While the opening weekend collection is important for big-budget Bigil, Kaithi’s content has to speak for itself so that it can survive in theatres along with Bigil.
