Last week, Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra starrer Jabariya Jodi released on the theatres and performed poorly at the box office. The film actually got mixed audience reviews. Jabariya Jodi is based on the dominant ' Pakadwa Shaadi ' (groom abductions) in Bihar. Sidharth performs a personality called Abhay Singh in the film, while Parineeti depicts a girl named Babli Yadav.
On Monday, Jabariya Jodi gathered Rs 2.25 crore nett, a 15 per cent decrease from day one. Because of Bakri Eid, however, which increased the collections by an additional 40-50 percent Today's income will see a large drop and Thursday's movie will be out.
The records of the film's first week are likely to be about Rs 16-17 crore nett, and that's not going to add much post. It will be very hard for the survival of the film as the fresh releases arrive on Thursday.
Talking about the movie the actress Parineeti said that it was just the kind of movie she and Sidharat had been looking for. The humour, the desi swag, the language of Bihari and the storyline ... it's all in sync.
She also said that for her, it was not a fresh territory as she was part of comparable tales based in small cities. They really assisted her as an actor to develop. It was certainly challenging, but being an actor provides her the opportunity to explore a lot of characters.
