Jack N Jill OTT Release; Manju’s Fight Sequences Gain Attention

After Urumi, Jack N Jill, directed by Santosh Sivan, had hit theaters on May 20. The theatrical performance of the film was a disappointment to the audience who expected magic from Santosh Sivan like Urumi and Ananthabhadram.

With the release of Amazon Prime on June 16, criticism of the film has once again risen on social media.

The film stars Manju Warrier and Kalidas Jayaram in the lead roles. Jack N Jill's story is one that does not fit the logic at all. Jack N Jill has prepared in the sci-fi genre that has not been tested much in Malayalam. Though it is a sci-fi film that is a symbol of modern times, the central theme was the revenge that was uttered in Malayalam films a decade ago.

Manju Warrier's performance was criticized. Despite all these criticisms, some of Manju's fight sequences were a bit of a relief when the film as a whole bored the audience. In the movie, Manju Warrier has a fight with villains.

Earlier, Santhosh Sivan had talked about Manju’s fight sequence in the film. Manju wanted to do action scenes with the flexibility of a dancer;” said the director. Santosh Sivan added that they had trained for this several times.

These fights were filmed in a beautiful way. Halfway through the film, there is a fight sequence of Manju with Bharatanatyam. Manju fights with the steps of the dance. It was one of the best scenes in the movie. The song "Angane" which accompanied the fight was also intertwined with the scenes.

The film failed to entertain and disappointed the audience. Nedumudi Venu, Kalidas Jayaram, Aju Varghese, Saubin Shahir, and Basil Joseph were among the big names but they were not used properly. These star-studded performers have over-acted on many occasions and presented a frustrating experience.
