Jayasurya to take a break for three months to prepare for his next film Kathanar

Actor Jayasurya gives his best to the character he is playing in any of his films. Films like Apothecary and Njan Marykutty show his dedication towards the craft. He is now coming up with another ambitious project called Kathanar. Rojin Thomas is directing the film. Kathanar is heavily inspired by the story of a popular priest from Kadamattom, who believed to have supernatural dark powers. Jayasurya revealed that he will take a break of three months to get into the character of Kadamattathu Kathanar.

Speaking to popular news daily Times of India, Jayasurya said that Kathanar will get made with a budget of around Rs. 75 crores. Gokulam Gopalan will bankroll the project under Gokulam Studios. The actor also stated that it will be a fantasy thriller that will showcase Kathanar in a different way. Earlier, a film called Kadamattathachan got released in 1984, dealing with the same story. Even a television story also got made on the Priest. But, Jayasurya confirmed that their film will be different from those two versions. So, we have to wait and see how the film shapes and how it is different from the other two versions. It is an interesting view to look at the film without a comparison with the other two versions.

Jayasurya stated that which path he will take to prepare for this role but is sure that he needs to go mad in preparation to give the life to the character. The pre-production works of Kathanar have already begun. It will also have a 3D version.
