A surprise statement was made a few weeks back. It was regarding filmmaker Mani Ratnam's reuniting with actor Kamal Haasan. They are collaborating after a 35-year hiatus. The film is tentatively titled "KH 234". It will be made by Mani Ratnam, Kamal Haasan, and Udhayanidhi Stalin under their respective home brands. It is anticipated that production will start in the second half of 2023.
The pre-production work for the movie has reportedly begun. The most recent development is that writer Jeyamohan has joined the cast of "KH 234." He will reportedly collaborate with Mani Ratnam to write the film's screenplay. The dialogues will reportedly be written by Jeyamohan.
On the job front, Kamal Haasan is now filming for the movie "Indian 2". He will soon be working with Mahesh Narayan on the writing for the movie which is getting ready in their collaboration. It was rumoured to be put on hold a few days ago. The movie is reportedly the sequel of the classic, Thevarmagan. Thevar Magan's sequel will be written by Kamal Haasan. As the director has made clear, the film is just delayed, not dropped.
Mani Ratnam is busy with the post-production works of Ponniyin Selvan's second installment. The pending shoot of patch shots will happen on January. Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam are collaborating after a 35 year's break. They last worked together for Nayakan in 1987.
