The sequel to the 2019 crime drama, 'Jiivi 2,' directed by VJ Gopinath, is set to be released soon on a popular OTT platform. Meanwhile, the film's producers, Suresh Kamatchi's V House Productions, have released the trailer, which stars Vetri and Karunakaran, as well as Mime Gopi and Rohini, among others.
SJ Suryah, the director-actor, released the trailer on his social media page. The nearly two-minute trailer teases the film, which is expected to be a thriller, and SJ Suryah has hinted at a time-loop element in the film.
Praveen Kumar's cinematography is complemented by music and editing by KS Sundaramurthy and Praveen KL, respectively. While Babu Tamizh wrote the screenplay for the first installment, Gopinath wrote the script for this one himself.
Jiivi, the prequel, was a thriller drama that was released with little fanfare but quickly earned positive word-of-mouth and cult status when it began streaming on the OTT platform. The plot revolves around the concept of fate intervening in the lives of three people, one of whom is Vetri, who plays Saravanan in the film. After determining the cause of the series of events, he attempts to prevent them from affecting his family. Jiivi's story revolves around his attempts to break free from this never-ending circle.
