Joker directed by Todd Phillips has received worldwide praise for reimagining one of the iconic villains of The DC Universe in a new light. Be it Joaquin Phoenix’s acting as the Joker or Phillip’s writing and direction, the world audience is in awe of the film. The film is about Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix). He is an unsuccessful clown and an even more unsuccessful stand-up comedian. As he attempts to exist in a rotten Gotham City, a sequence of violent events will lead to a revolt in the city and the birth of the Joker.
Soon India will also experience this magnificent journey. And India’s wait to see Joker on the Silver screen just got shorter. Joker was earlier supposed to release on 4th October 2019, but it will now release on 2nd October 2019.
The second and major reason to smile is a Central Board of Film Certification. The national film certification board has cleared Joker with ‘A’ certification but....*drumrolls* ...With no cuts. The film will have two mutes though. This move by CBFC has brought the Joker Smile on the faces of Indian Audience. No cuts certification will make sure it maintains the authenticity of the film and will bring out its real essence.
A film that received an eight minutes standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival. Indian Audience are eagerly waiting for the release of Joker.
