After the success of 2.0, director Shankar didn’t take time to celebrate the film’s success. He immediately started working on his next flick, which is Indian 2 with Kamal Haasan. Now, it is said that the film has run into budget constraints.
Reportedly, Lyca Productions had requested Shankar to come up with a proper budget estimate for Indian 2. However, Shankar couldn’t do so as he is not someone who sticks to the budget with his elaborate plans for his films.
Lyca Productions incurred losses with 2.0 and they do not want to repeat the same mistake again. So, Lyca is said to have asked Shankar to make Indian 2 within a stipulated budget.
It looks like this has caused a friction between the two parties and the film is on the verge of getting shelved. At present, Shankar is trying to lure in producers in Telugu and Hindi to do the film as he wants to.
It is also said that Lyca is facing financial hiccups due to the failure of 2.0. Reportedly, they have put a hold on all their production ventures.
