Karan Johar has decided to break the ice between him and Kangana as he wants to cast her in a film; says whenever I have a script that needs her, will call her
Kangana Ranaut and Karan Johar have had their share of controversial fights after the actress appeared on one of the episodes of Koffee with Karan, where she openly criticised Karan's favouritism towards the star kids. After Kangana's allegations and remarks against nepotism, Karan decided to cut ties with her and didn't call her again on the last season of his show. Their verbal quarrel had been going on for a long time. However, equations seem to be changing now.
After he and Kangana both received the prestigious Padma Shri award on Republic Day, Karan gave an interview to Mumbai Mirror and said that the actress deserves the honour completely. He also said that he would cast her in a film whenever he has a script that needs her. "So much has said about Kangana, me and some kind of rivalry or simmering tension. But at every public event, we’ve met, we’ve greeted each other graciously. As a filmmaker, I respect Kangana’s talent, craft, and what she brings to the table. She is an actor who has proved her mettle and is deserving of the honour. Besides Ekta and Adnan Sami, I am honoured to receive the Padma Shri alongside Kangana.”
On working with Kangana Ranaut, Karan added, “Tomorrow, if I have a film for which I need Kangana, I will pick up the phone and call her. Whatever the problem, whatever may have been said on social media, is irrelevant to me. I’m a filmmaker and she’s an artist and no amount of personal bias should come in the way of that relationship. I believe in that and will stand by it.”
