The movie "Viruman," starring Karthi and Aditi Shankar, was released in theatres on August 12. According to reports, the movie had Karthi's highest opening day box office take. Audiences and critics have, however, offered both positive and negative feedback on the movie. The movie has a sizable family audience because it is a rural family story.
On the day of its theatrical premiere, the movie reportedly brought in Rs 8 crore at the box office. Following Sivakarthikeyan's "Don," which made Rs 9 crore on its first day, "Viruman" comes in at number 8 in Tamil Nadu as the year's highest-grossing opening-day film. Taking to Twitter, the film's distributor posted that the film made a gross of Rs 8.2 core on the day of its release.
Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the score for "Viruman," and Suriya's production company produced the movie. In addition to Soori, the film also features Prakash Raj, Raj Kiran, Vadivukkarasi, and others. According to reports, the movie will serve as Aditi Shankar's successful Kollywood debut. The actress has now started filming for the Madonne Ashwin-helmed movie "Maaveeran," in which she stars alongside Sivakarthikeyan.
