Kate Winslet Opens Up About Getting Body Shamed

Kate Winslet, as we all know, rose to fame because of Titanic. She played an important role in James Cameron's recently released film Avatar" The Way of Water. However, she had a nasty experience while she was shooting for Titanic with Leonardo DiCaprio. She said that the media was mean and abusive to her regarding her body weight. In the climax, Rose lies on the floating door as if it didn't have space and is the weight of two. When asked if Rose could have saved Jack, she said that people were bullying her back then. This is Titanic's 25th year and there comes no better time for Kate to open up about the cruel treatment she received at the hands of the media. She opened up about her feelings in a podcast ahead of Titanic's 25th year anniversary.

"Apparently, I was too fat… Isn't it awful? Why were they so mean to me? They were so mean. I wasn't even f**ing fat… If I could turn back the clock, I would have used my voice in a completely different way. I would have said to journalists, I would have responded, I would have said, 'Don't you dare treat me like this. I'm a young woman, my body is changing, I'm figuring it out, I'm deeply insecure, I'm terrified, don't make this any harder than it already is.' That's bullying, you know, and actually borderline abusive, I would say," Kate shared this on the Happy Sad Confused podcast ahead of Titanic's 25th anniversary.
