Kim Kardashian is in a twist... again.

The OG Kardashian sister found herself in a minefield of controversies following the Paris fashion week. This received widespread backlash and criticism from the African American community on the internet.

In a double whammy, along with wearing her fashion choice, the beauty mogul posted a throwback picture on Instagram. The pictures are from a photoshoot with internationally known artist Vanessa Beecroft. In the picture, Kim wears a white dress. Her hair dyed blonde and get tied in braids. White beads adorn the ends of the braids in the hair-do. This hairstyle, known as 'Fulani braids', linked to African identity.

The social media starlet shared pictures of herself wearing the braids at Paris Fashion Week. She, along with daughter North, 6, and niece Penelope Disick, wore waist-length braids for the occasion. The trio, along with Kim's sister Kourtney Kardashian attended Kanye West's Yeezy Season 8 show. Kim's father Robert Kardashian had Armenian-American origins, while her mother Kris Jenner has Dutch, English, Irish and Scottish ancestors.

Her choice of attire was met with vehement criticism, particularly on Twitter. "YOU ARE NOT BLACK", one user tweeted.

Kim sported what is known as 'Fulani braids' for the occasion. "Stripped and stolen. Black women have gotten fired, criticized, even spat on Little girls can’t even go to school with braids in their hair because it’s called ugly and unprofessional for the styles that Kim Kardashian has had in her hair, but it’s cool because she is Kim K", another user commented.
