Kya Kehna actor Chandrachur Singh shares an insight into the time he faced a phase of disillusionment

Bollywood actor Chandrachur Singh has recently come back to limelight with the news about his upcoming digital release. Singh is soon going to appear alongside Sushmita Sen In Disney Plus Hotstar's upcoming show Aarya. Singh is best known for many successful films in the early 90s era. He made his Bollywood debut with Tere Mere Sapne which was acclaimed by critics and fans alike. He also appeared in other big films like Maachis and Kya Kehna. Despite giving many hits on the big screen Chandrachur Singh eventually lost his fame to other new stars.

Singh also lost various film opportunities later. The actor was originally cast for Deepa Mehta's Earth but later got replaced by Rahul Khanna. Singh's film Dariya also got shelved after an early announcement in 1998.

Now in a recent interview with Mid-day, Singh has revealed that he faced a phase of disillusionment ever since. He added saying, "I went through a phase of disillusionment, but a sense of surrender came along soon after. When you're inducted into the industry with a film like Maachis, your expectations are higher. But I could showcase my abilities based only on the offers that came my way. I am happy with the little work I have done. I didn't want to sell myself short. I had faith that one day, the tide will turn. Today, the OTT boom has put the focus on stories."

His upcoming show Aarya also stars Sushmita Sen. Aarya is an action-packed drama series scheduled to release on Disney Plus Hotstar very soon.
