Lakshmi Manchu laments about theatre mafia
These days, producers are not at all happy with the allocation of theatres or the kind of treatment they receive once the film releases. It has become a norm that low-budget films should not be given any importance.
Recently, Lakshmi Manchu, who is always vocal about several issues was promoting her web-series Mrs. Subbulakshmi. At the press meet, Lakshmi shared the on-ground reality of a producer who struggles to find theatres.
She said, "As a Producer, I am scared to make films. The process is going to be smooth while shooting but we end up facing all sorts of problems while releasing. Theatres won't be in our control. We have no idea how many days would the film will be screened. To make a film, we work day and night for a year leaving the family. Not just me, 150 others work in the same manner. It hurts when our film was removed from the theatres to screen some other movie."
She also added that her family background won't be considered while screening the film and revealed that the theatre owners don't even screen the film for at least one week.
