Lakshmi Menon was born in a Malayali family in Kerala. Lakshmi Menon is a trained Bharata Natyam dancer. Director Vinayan once saw her on the television and cast her in a supporting role in his 2011 film Raghuvinte Swantham Rasiya. In 2012, she acted in the film Ideal Couple.
In 2013, she made her debut as a lead actress with the Tamil film Sundara Pandian. Directed by SR Prabhakaran, this film featured Sasi Kumar as the lead hero. This movie brought a lot of acclaim for Menon. She also went on to win Tamil Nadu State Award and Filmfare Award for this movie. In the very same year, she acted in another acclaimed Tamil film called Kumki. With two back to back hits, there was no looking back for Lakshmi.
