Lata Mangeshkar’s niece Rachana Shah said today that the singer is “doing very good.” The singer got admitted two weeks ago in the early hours of November 11. She had admitted to the Intensive Care Unit and put on a ventilator. As of now, it is unclear whether the singer is still in the ICU.
Hospital sources were unavailable for comments despite several attempts to contact them, PTI informed.
"She is doing very good. We are happy," Mangeshkar's niece Rachana Shah told. Upon getting asked when Mangeshkar would discharge from hospital, Shah said, "Discharge time frame is presently not important. What's important is how well she is recovering."
In her over a seven-decade career, Mangeshkar has sung more than 30,000 songs across languages.
She got considered one of the greatest playback singers in Indian cinema. She received the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honor, in 2001. The singer is 90 years of age.
