Laura Dern bagged an oscar for herself at the 2020 Oscars for her compelling role in The Marriage Story.
She is the daughter of two successful actors Diane Ladd and Bruce Dern. She became an emancipated minor at the age of 16 to work as an actor.
Dern played her first role of Eric Stoltz in the movie Mask at the age of 18 in 1985.
Immediately after, Dern made her hit role in the film Blue Velvet directed by David Lynch. She played a simple girlfriend as the character.
In 1990 the actress starred in another of Lynch’s films, Wild at Heart. She played a much different role than her earlier one.
Dern received her first Oscar nomination for her role of a sex worker in Rambling Rose.
She then starred in Jurassic Park in 1993 playing the role of a scientist.
In the last three years. Dern has selected roles that are contrary to her previous ones in movies such as The Last Jedi, Trial By Fire. But one that has gained her much popularity was her role as Renata Klein in Big Little Lies.
Dern's versatile nature has helped her in getting the iconic roles of Mrs. March in Little Women and then as Nora Fanshaw in the Marriage Story.
