Lokesh Kanagaraj joined hands with Thalapathy Vijay for Master, which hit the theatres in January this year. The film became a blockbuster hit and received overwhelming reviews from critics and audiences alike. On the eve of Vijay's birthday, June 21, Lokesh Kanagaraj interacted with Dhivyadharshini on a Twitter Space session. Lokesh, while speaking, revealed the best advice Vijay gave him when footage leaked before the film's release.
Lokesh Kanagraj said, "I was very depressed when footage from Master was released before the theatrical release. Vijay anna told me, “Freeya vidu…We have finished the film. They will have to come to the theatres to watch it. Forget about everything else.” When talking about his assistant directors, Lokesh said, "They are like a pet to him. In advance, he will find out their birthdays and order a cake for them. He puts his hand over their shoulders and talks casually. He will play cricket with the team. Initially, I used to call him sir. Later, this changed to Vijay anna. I used to call Vijay Sethupathi also sir. Later, I asked him if I can call him Sethu anna and he said okay.”
