Senior Telugu film producer, NV Prasad is scheduled to meet with the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on the 12th of this month. He will be requesting the chief minister to permit flexible ticket pricing at cinema halls in the state. Given the plight of exhibitors and distributors, Jagan is expected to react positively to the request, albeit with a few reservations.
Once the government permits flexible ticket pricing, several biggies including the likes of Love In the story, Tuck Jagadish, Acharya, and others are expected to lock-release dates. Official announcements on the release dates of these films will be made next week.
Satya Dev’s Thimmarasu has already locked 30th July as its theatrical release date and it will be the first Telugu film to hit the silver screen post the second wave of Covid. An official announcement on the same dropped earlier today. We might have a few big additions to the list of Telugu films lining up for release in the next few weeks.
The makers of RRR, Radhe Shyam, and RRR are also waiting for the final orders from the government of Andhra Pradesh. These films are also likely to be out in theaters later this year. Meanwhile, the government of Telangana has permitted 100% occupancy at cinema halls across the state and is the first state in the country to do so.
