On May 19, Madhavan starrer 'Rocketry the Numbi Effect' was screened at the Cannes Film Festival. The film is based on the life of former ISRO scientist Padmabhushan Nambi Narayanan. Madhavan himself has directed the film. The film features actor Madhavan in the lead role and marks his directorial debut.
Earlier, PM Narendra Modi had expressed his delight at India's selection as a 'Country of Honour' at Cannes Film Festival. India will be the official Country of Honour at the next 'Marche du Film'. This will take place in France in conjunction with the 75th Cannes Film Festival. The Country of Honour designation means that India will be the Focus Country for the Opening Night of the 'Marche du Film'. This will be held at the Majestic Beach and will focus on India, its cinema, culture, and heritage.
