Maharshi marks Mahesh Babu’s 25th film and the film, directed by Vamsi Paidipally hit the screens on May 9. The film has received mixed reviews from the critics and audience.
One of the commonly pointed out things is that Maharshi resembles a lot of borrowed ideas from Maharshi Babu’s and other actor’s films. This is turning out to be an issue that’s plaguing the film.
The first 15 minutes of Maharshi where Mahesh Babu is seen as a rich man resembles Pawan Kalyan’s Attarintiki Daredi. The college episode seems to be borrowed from Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots.
The portion where he goes to the village looks like a total rip off of Koratala Siva’s Srimanthudu. And the portion where he questions government officials and higher authorities have traces of Bharath Ane Nenu.
