'Maharshi' sets new records with its non-theatrical rights
As said in one of his movies, Mahesh Babu does not just create records but he sets all-time records. Theatrical and digital rights of his most-awaited flick ‘Maharshi’ fetching the new heights is the latest instance proving his towering craze. According to the latest update, the non-theatrical rights of Maharshi has raked in a staggering Rs 47.5 Crore.
The Maker of the movie Sri Venkateswara Creations, Vyjayanthi Movies and PVP Cinema has sold the digital rights to Amazon Prime for Rs 11 Crore and Telugu satellite rights reportedly fetched Rs 14.5 Crore through Sun Network. Another Rs. 20 Crore was added to the lot by selling the Hindi dubbing rights. Aditya Music has bought the music rights for Rs. 2 Crore.
Though the makers have expected to sell the overseas rights for a whopping Rs. 20 Crore, Great India Films, the overseas distributor, has struck the theatrical rights in the abroad for Rs 12.5 Crore. This is the same distribution house that worked for Mahesh’s ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’ abroad. The makers and overseas distributors are also planning for a grand premiere on May 8th around the world.
