Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan's next highly awaited film, will be released next year, but a sequel is already in the works. Aditya Chopra and his crew intend to convert SRK's action-thriller into a franchise, similar to Salman Khan's Tiger films.
The producers have opted to include more characters in the Pathaan sequel, which is now in the works. "The Pathaan crew has begun writing the sequel to the film, and the plot will go to many countries," a source connected to the film's development claimed.
Pathaan, directed by Siddharth Anand, also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham as key actors. The film will also have a crossover with Salman Khan's Tiger 3, with both SRK and Salman appearing in cameo roles in each other's flicks.
Salman Khan has already completed filming for his role in Pathaan, but Shah Rukh has yet to begin filming for Tiger. The shoot for SRK's cameo was postponed because both stars were occupied with other projects.
