The long-awaited official trailer of Connect, starring Nayanthara, is now here. At 12 a.m. today, the trailer was uploaded on Rowdy Pictures' official YouTube channel (December 9, Friday). The film, directed by Ashwin Saravanan, will release on December 22 this year. Connect will be the first Tamil film to release in theatres without an intermission.
Connect's trailer showcases a nuclear family's pleasant existence. The family is a couple played by Nayanthara and Vinay Rai, their teenage daughter, and the old father. Their typical life turns upside down when the lockdown begins. It is due to a sudden change in their daughter's behavior. She tries to save her daughter from danger. For this, she enlists the help of her father and an exorcist. All this while, her husband, a doctor, is away on Covid responsibilities.
The Connect trailer is an engaging experience. It is so due to cinematographer Manikantan Krishnamachary's effective visualization. Thanks also go to music composer Prithvi Chandrasekhar's fascinating background composition.
Senior actor Sathyaraj plays Susan's father in the Ashwin Saravanan-directed film. Anupam Kher, the veteran Bollywood actor, is making his Tamil film debut through the film. He will play an exorcist in the much-anticipated flick. Haniya Nafisa plays Susan's teenage daughter in the film. The production is being funded by Nayanthara's husband, famed filmmaker Vignesh Shivan. Vignesh Shivan is funding the film through his home banner Rowdy Pictures.
