Malavika Sreenath On Her Casting Couch Experience: He Groped Me

Malayalam acctress Malavika Sreenath, who acted in films like Madhuram and Saturday Night, recently made headlines when she opened up about her casting couch experience. She said she was asked to come for audition to play Manju Warrier's daughter in a film. She got groped by the man who recorded her video.

Speaking to a Malayalam regional channel, Malavika said, "I was called a long time ago, three years ago. Now, I know that they were not related to that film. I was told that it was for a Manju Warrier movie and I was to act as Manju's daughter. Anyone will fall for it. Whoever it is, one will go just to get a chance to meet Manju Warrier." Explaining further, she added, "It was a room made out of glass. After the audition, he said my hair is a bit messy, and asked me to go to the dressing room and fix it. As I was doing that, he suddenly came and grabbed me from behind. He was a tall big man. I started feeling number and started trembling in fear. I was trying to push him away, but couldn't. He said, 'If you'd just put your mind to it, you will be Manju Warrier's daughter on screen'. He asked me to let my mother and sister stay outside and asked me to stay there for ten minutes. I started crying and tried to knock his camera down. By the time his attention was diverted, I got out of there and escaped."
