Legendary filmmaker Mani Ratnam is busy working on his ambitious film Ponniyin Selvan, which is made on a mammoth budget.

Mani Ratnam unveils Ponniyin Selvan title font

Filmmaker Mani Ratnam has been dreaming about making Ponniyin Selvan for about a decade now. Finally, his 12-year dream is getting fulfilled as it is already on floors. Ponniyin Selvan is jointly produced by Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions on a mammoth budget.

On January 2, the makers of Ponniyin Selvan released the title font with a minimal poster. The poster has a mighty sword that has a royal holder with tigers on each side. The holder also had the face of a lion in its center. In just a few minutes the poster went viral on social media.
The production house shared two posters and wrote, “Are you ready to witness the beginning of the golden era on the big screen? #PonniyinSelvan Shooting in progress (sic)"
Ponniyin Selvan boasts an ensemble star cast including Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Lal, Ashwin Kakumanu and Nerkonda Paarvai actor Arjun Chidambaram. The film’s technical crew comprises of composer AR Rahman, dialogue writer Jeyamohan, editor Sreekar Prasad, cinematographer Ravi Varman and choreographer Brinda.
