Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan - 1 Wrapped Up, Film To Release In 2022

Director Mani Ratnam is living his dream as he is busy filming his dream project, Ponniyin Selvan. The film is based on the Tamil literary novel of the same name, written by Kalki Krishnamoorthy. The period film stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Chiyaan Vikram, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, and Prabhu in lead roles. Jointly produced by Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies, Ponniyin Selvan will be made in two parts. At this stage, the makers and the stars of Ponniyin Selvan took to social media to announce that the shooting of the first part has been wrapped up. The final schedule of Ponniyin Selvan part 1 took place in Madhya Pradesh, Hyderabad, and Pollachi in Tamil Nadu.

 
Announcing the wrap-up of Ponniyin Selvan - 1, the makers released a new poster. The stars who are part of Ponniyin Selvan, said, in a statement, "This is a film of a lifetime and can never happen again in any of our careers. We are excited to watch the film." The first part of Ponniyin Selvan will release in theatres in summer 2022. The technical crew of Ponniyin Selvan includes composer AR Rahman, cinematographer Ravi Varman, production designer Thota Tharani and editor Sreekar Prasad. The screenplay of the film is jointly written by Mani Ratnam, Jeyamohan, and Kumaravel.
