Despite being a star in the Malayalam film industry, Nivin Pauly pushes the boundaries of stardom and tries to select unique scripts for his every film. This time, the actor did a homosexual role in the film Moothon, which got released worldwide recently. Even though it is a bit offbeat role for Nivin, the audience accepted the film and made it a successful venture.
Before the theatrical release, the film rounded in quite a few film festival. The world premiere of the Moothon happened in Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September this year. Later, it got selected as the opening film of Mumbai International Film Festival (MAMI), in October. Now, it got selected again as the opening film at the prestigious South Asian Film Festival (FFAST), which is going to take place in Paris.
Nivin himself shared the news by tweeting, "So proud to inform that, #Moothon is selected in competition and also honoured as the opening film at #FFAST,South Asian Film Festival in Paris on January 28th. #GeetuMohandas #AnuragKashyap."
Moothon features Shobita Dhulipala, Shashank Arora and Roshan Mathew in the other important roles. Vinod Kumar, Anurag Kashyap, Alan MCAlex and Ajay G Rai have jointly bankrolled this movie. Sagar Desai has composed the music.
