Director Sukumar had announced at the time of Pushpa 1 itself, that there would be new characters in the second part, Pushpa: The Rule. It is now being said that Jagapathi Babu will be a part of Pushpa 2.
Allu Arjun's Pushpa: The Rise, turned out to be a phenomenon hit across the country, collecting over a hundred crores worldwide, and amassing a huge fan following for it. Moreover, the mannerisms and attitude shown by Bunny in the film entertained the audience thoroughly. The first part of Pushpa became such a raging hit that the second film is being made on a grander scale.
The shooting of the second part of Pushpa, titled Pushpa: The Rule, had begun recently. Director Sukumar spent 2022 finalising and fine-tuning the script of the second part. All the original characters from the first part of Pushpa will be seen in the second part as well. Along with them, new actors are being roped in for new characters. There have only been speculations about new actors so far, with no confirmations. It is now being said that Jagapathi Babu has been cast in a key role in the film.
Jagapathi Babu collaborated with Sukumar for Nannaku Prematho and Rangasthalam as well, both of which turned out to be super hits. Jagapthi Babu has also been boosting ahead as a top antagonist and character actor in South India for the past several years. The actor's re-entry as a villain with Balayya's Legend turned out to be a huge game changer. It would be interesting to see Jagapathi Babu in the film.
On the other hand, Pushpa 2 is expected to release in December this year, with Rashmika Mandanna returning as the leading lady. Devi Sri Prasad is the music director for this film.
