‘My mother supposed to win it for her first Malayalam movie’ says Keerthy Suresh Actor Keerthy Suresh is celebrating her big win at the 66th National Film Awards, announced on Friday. In an interview to a national channel, Keerthy says’ My mother was supposed to win the National Award for her first Malayalam movie. She was loved for her role. The movie got 10-11 national awards and she was expecting one. There were last-minute changes and it didn’t happen. She always used to talk about it. I thought I should fulfil her dream and that is one of the reasons I got into acting,” she added. Almost a day after the announcement, Keerthy took to social media with a heartfelt letter talking about the film and the recognition.

Thanking her producers, director and the entire crew of the film, Keerthy dedicated the award to her family, specifically her mother, veteran actress Menaka and her guru, filmmaker Priyadarshan.
