Chennai: The Registrar of Societies on Wednesday announced that the elections of Nadigar Sangam scheduled on 23 June has been cancelled as many rules of the association have been violated. Since it may take some time, the election process would be stopped till then.
After considering the complaint on the suspension of actors in Nadigar Sangam, the Registrar of Societies has cancelled the election. The members of Pandavar Ani including Vishal, Nassar, Karthi and Poochi Murugan met Banwarilal Purohit, the Governor of Tamil Nadu to solve the ongoing issue in the Nadigar Sangam elections.
Already the High Court had refused to allow the elections in at the proposed MGR Janaki college venue and now this comes as another major blow to the embattled union of the Tamil actors.
