Santosham is one of the few films in Telugu cinema, which remains a favourite & family binge watch for the audience. Starring Nagarjuna, Sherya, Prabhudeva & Gracy Singh, the film released on 9 May 2002, marking it 18 years of age. The film is a blockbuster hit both commercially & critically. The movie went on to become one of the most successful films in Nag's career.
Santosham movie deals with the man who lost his wife and receives an invitation for an event from the family of his wife. It is an act of reconciliation, which turns out to be the conflicting meeting. With the shades of Hindi film 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', starring Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukherjee & Kajol, the film did very well. Audio of the film, composed R.P. Patnaik, was chartbuster and is still heard of. Comedy was the main highlight of the film. Brahmanandam, Sunil & Prabhudeva tracks were hilariously enjoyed and still remembered by the audience. Amongst all the rival & revenge films, this is the only film that released on the family drama with light & neat comedy.
Directed by Dasarath, this film marks his debut, while the script was written by him, Gopi Mohan & Trivikram Srinivas. Trivikram joined the project as Nag liked his work when approached for 'Manmadhudu', which he made right after this film. This film holds a record grossing collections with a huge theatrical run, one of the highest runs of Nag's career.
