National Film Award: Andhadhun best movie, Ayushmann Khurrana & Vicky Kaushal got best actor award
After a long three-month delay due to the May-April 2019 General Elections, the National Film Award took place at 9th August 2019. It was the 66th National Film award. The ceremony was started at 3 pm which is going on.
Movie Andhadhun got the best movie award this year. Andhadhun was a thriller of crime that held individuals on tenterhooks throughout the running time. The film is a thriller about a blind pianist who has to become an accidental "witness" to an assassination.

Deepika’s Ghoomar from movie Padmavat got the best choreography award. Jyoti D Tommar won the best choreographer award for song Ghoomar. Sanjay Leela Bhansali got the best music director award for Padmavat.
The awards of best background movies were given to “Uri”. Apart from it, Mahanati won the best Telugu movie award. Baaram won the best Tamil movie award. Sudani from Nigeria was rewarded as the best Malayalam movie. Bulbul Can Sing was rewarded as the best Assamese movie.
The National Award for Best Marathi Film went to Bhonga, featuring Amol Kagne and Kapil Kamble Gudsurkar. Hamid got the best Urdu movie award.
