Nawazuddin Siddiqui Says He Will No Longer Look To Do Small Roles

Nawazuddin Siddiqui stated that even if someone offers him 25 crores, he will not accept small roles now. He started off in tiny roles and has even agreed to participate in productions where he just had a few scenes.

Nawazuddin claimed in a recent interview to have played numerous tiny roles during his career. “And I am done with that. Ab toh aap mujhe 25 crores bhi denge toh bhi main Chhota role nahi karunga (Now, I won't do a small role even if you offer me ₹crore for the part). I feel that money and fame are just by-products of your work. If you just do your job well, money and fame will run after you. If you chase them, you will never find them, so just keep doing good work,” Nawazuddin told in the interview.

He added, "We sometimes chase money and fame all our lives and get nothing. I believe that khudi ko itna enhance kar lo. Khud ko aisa bana lo ki money aur fame aapke ghulam ban jaaye aur aap ke peeche bhaage. (Enhance yourself as much that money and fame become your slaves and run after you).”

Nawazuddin starred in a number of movies before his big break. He became a household name for his depiction of Faisal Khan in Anurag Kashyap's Gangs of Wasseypur (2012). In Manoj Bajpayee's 1999 cop drama School, he portrayed a waiter.

He also appeared in brief interrogation moments as a terrorist in the Talaash and Black Friday films, both starring Aamir Khan. Together with Sunil Dutt, he appeared in a touching moment as a pickpocket. It was for Munnabhai MBBS, a film by Rajkumar Hirani.

In the movie Heropanti 2 with Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria, Nawazuddin played the antagonist.

Nawazuddin has an interesting lineup of films slated for release soon. In Haddi, he will play the part of a transwoman. Akshat Ajay Sharma, who also co-wrote the script with Adamya Bhalla, is the film's director. Tiku Weds Sheru, a movie starring Kangana Ranaut, is another project he is working on. Bole Chudiya, Jogira Sa Ra Ra Ra, and Afwah will also include him.
